The Allegory of the Cave

This is from Book VII of The Republic written by Plato and it is focusing on Socrates' allegory of the cave. They start off by telling a story about people living in caves and how their shadows are the only thing they believe in. One of the prisoners in the cave sees another person and it traumatized him and makes him change everything he has ever believed in. This one prisoner finally was able to break out of the cave and discovers what was in front of him when he walked out, the rest of the entire world. This is metaphorically told to us because us students need to come of out the "cave" regarding our education.
